Day 7 receipt
Gemini 4 Argon
Day 3 of 7Google's new frontier model, announced on 30 Sep for cyber defenders and opened broadly on 13 Oct.
Launch dayWhat they claimed, quoted word for word · 4
“Gemini 4 Argon is now globally available today for developers and enterprises via the API in AI Studio and Gemini platform, for Google AI Ultra subscribers in Google Antigravity, and Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search.”
Live for many, but Ultra for Business users report no access in Antigravity, and Gemini CLI has an open request to support it for Enterprise sign-ins.
“Today, we’re rolling out Gemini 4 Argon directly inside Google Antigravity for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers — available in the Antigravity desktop app and the Antigravity CLI.”
Pro users said it was missing from 13 to 15 Oct; one Pro user said it arrived on 16 Oct. Google's main launch post names Ultra only for Antigravity.
“The model launches today at an introductory price of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens (with cached input tokens at 95% off).”
Developers report zero cache hits. Staff confirmed explicit caching isn't supported for this model (it relies on implicit caching) and said they are looking into it.
“Its depth and precision across multi-step tasks leads Argon to outperform other frontier models on benchmarks across domains, ranking #1 on the Vals Index”
A benchmark claim; only one user report on real-world coding (negative). Not enough to judge.

A developer sent the same ~36k-token prefix repeatedly and got zero cached tokens on Argon while Gemini 3.7 Flash cached it; explicit caching returned a 400. Staff replied that explicit caching is not supported by design and they are looking into it; others report the same.
