Honesty over sponsors
Day 7 only works if you can trust the stamp. These rules make that possible.
The rules
- No reviewed company can sponsor us. If we have stamped, or plan to stamp, a company’s product, that company and its subsidiaries can’t buy a sponsorship, an ad, an affiliate deal or a “partnership”.
- Sponsors come only from categories we don’t review, such as hosting, developer infrastructure, security, hardware, finance and banking for founders, learning, and recruiting. If we ever start reviewing a sponsor’s category, the sponsorship ends at the end of its paid term and is not renewed.
- Every sponsor is approved by the owner first and clearly labelled “Sponsor” wherever it appears.
- Sponsors never touch verdicts. They don’t see receipts before they publish, can’t request coverage, and can’t ask for changes.
- No paid placement in receipts. Nothing on a receipt card or receipt page is sponsored.
- We correct in public. Mistakes are fixed and logged on the corrections page with the date and what changed.
- We disclose conflicts. If anyone working on Day 7 has a financial interest in a reviewed company, we say so on that receipt.
Disclosure
The founder uses and pays for many of the AI tools we review, at full price, with no deals. Verdicts are opinion based on the public reports we link.
